 What is Citronella? Citronella is a tropical grass that produces a lemon scented oil, commonly used as an ingredient for perfumes and insect repellents.
Where does Citronella grow? Citronella is native to Java and Sri Lanka regions. Plantation farms of this plant is common, and regularly cultivated throughout the area. Today, it can be found in part of South America and Austrailia.
Benefits: Recommended for treating loss of appetite, indigestion and throat problems. Its chemical properties are astringent, which causes the shrinkage of mucous membranes and tissues.
Precautions: Citronella oil vapors are very strong as a natural insect repellent, it is best to not inhale it directly as it may cause lung problems.
