 What is Licorice? The licorice root is commonly used in flavorings and candy because it 50 times sweeter than sugar. Often times the sweet root can be chewed by itself.
Where does Licorice grow? It grows wildly in southern and central Europe.
Benefits: Licorice has been used traditionally to treat the heart and spleen in addition to other conditions such as ulcer, cold symptoms and skin disorders. Modern uses of licorice include soothing upset stomachs and control coughs by loosening mucus.
Precautions: Don't use licorice if you on blood pressure drugs.
