 What is Lycopene? Lycopene serves a light absorbing agent in tomatoes during photosynthesis. It gives tomatoes that bright red color.
Where does Lycopene grow? Lycopene is readily available in tomatoes and other red colored fruits such as pink grapefruit, watermelon, guava, and papaya.
Benefits: Interest in lycopene was sparked by clinical studies indicating its benefits in the prevention of cancer and cardiovascular disease with its ability to protect cells against damage from free radicals.
